江雪
柳宗元 (Liu Zongyuan) 唐朝 Tang Dynasty (618-907 AD)
Qiān shān niǎo fēi jué, wàn jìng rén zōng miè.
千山鸟飞绝，万径人踪灭。
Gū zhōu suōlì wēng, dú diào hán jiāng xuě.
孤舟蓑笠翁，独钓寒江雪。
River Snow
No bird is flying in endless mountains,
No trace left on countless trails.
On the only boat, an old man wearing a straw cape and a bamboo hat,
is fishing alone in the cold river snow.

柳宗元-Liu Zongyuan (773-819 AD) was a Chinese writer, politician, and poet of the Tang dynasty. He was one of the "Eight Great Prose Masters of the Tang and Song".
