Ci Poems

yī qū xīn cí jiǔ yībēi,
qùnián tiānqì jiù tíng tái,
xīyáng xī xià jǐshí huí?

wúkěnàihé huā luò qù,
sìcéngxiāngshí yàn guīlái,
xiǎo yuán xiāng jìng dú páihuái.

To the Tune of Huanxisha (Yarn Washing in Creek)
Yan Shu (991-1055 AD)

New words to a tune and a cup of wine,
The terrace, pavilion and weather are just fine,
When will the setting sun be back again?

Hopelessly, flowers are withering and falling,
The returning swallows seem the old acquaintance of mine,
Alone in the little garden I walk on petals wandering.
