There are four ways to use 哪( nǎ/na/něi )
  1. To express "which" in a question
    【哪 + (Numeral) + Measure Word】
    哪[nǎ/něi] can be used in questions in which there is a fixed or limited set of answers.
    • ge shì wǒ de? Xiǎo yīdiǎn de nàgè?
      个是我的?小一点的那个?

  2. To refer to any one
    【哪 + (Numeral) + Measure Word】
    哪[nǎ/něi], referring to any one, can be used with numeral and measure word in the sentence.
    • “Wǒ kěyǐ chī nǎ kuài dàngāo?” “Nǎ yīkuài dōu xíng.”
      “我可以吃哪块蛋糕?” “哪一块都行。”

  3. To express the negation
    【哪 + Verb】
    When used as an adverb, 哪[nǎ] can express the negation.
    • Bié zuòmèngle! yǒu nàme wánměi de shì.
      别做梦了!有那么完美的事。

  4. The modification of 啊[a] to express exclamation
    【Sentence + 哪】
    As the modification of the particle 啊[a], 哪[na] can be used at the end of the sentence to express exclamation. In this case, 哪 is in neutral tone.
    • Wǒ de tiān na, wǒ cóng méi jiànguò zhèyàng de shì!
      我的天,我从没见过这样的事!
