1. 地 is very similar to the English suffix -ly. ;

2. 的 most often used to modify nouns; 地 most often used with adverbs before the verb;

3. 得 is most often used with verb complements; 地 is most often used with adverbial phrases. In Chinese, adverbs always appear before the verb, and complements appear after the verb, following the particle 得;

4. Prepositional Phrase can be used between 地 and the verb, or after the verb;

5. 在 and 地 are used to describe an action in progress.
